Workshop: Introduction to Open Educational Resources (OER)

This presentation was hosted by UT Libraries as part of the March 2020 global Open Education Week.

Founded in 2013 by the Open Education Global (previously Open Education Consortium), the goal of Open Education Week is to raise awareness and showcase impact of open education on teaching and learning worldwide. Open Education Week has become one of the most foremost global events recognizing high achievement and excellence in open education.

Abstract

What are Open Educational Resources (OERs)? Why are they important, and where can they be found for your course? Led by Elizabeth Spica in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, this presentation explores the answers to common questions about Open Educational Resources and helps faculty learn how UT Open Textbook/OER Grant Program can help support the transition to OER.
