Abstract
The problem of heating has confronted man since time began and as he has advanced through the ages he has found better methods of heating. The oldest and for many years the only method of heating was the open fire. From this to the stove was a great forward step and led up to the furnaces of today. Now we have various methods of heating, the most important of which are the use of the hot-air furnaces, hot water, steam, and the electric heater.
One of the most satisfactory systems in use today is the use of steam with direct radiation, especially in large buildings, such as the Physics and Geology Building.
