Abstract
The Modular Modeling Program is a computer package that was developed to simulate operational transients in a typical pressurized water reactor. The program is made up of a simulator, a library and a driver. The simulator functions as a simulation package. The library contains theoretical models for several components in a typical pressurized water reactor coolant loop. The lumped parameter modeling approach was used to develop the theoretical models. The driver functions to merge the simulator and theoretical models in the library into one large file.
The Modular Modeling Program provides the user with an opportunity to select models of various complexity from the library, construct a system of interest and execute the case for a given perturbation. The formulation of these models allows proper interconnection.
The Modular Modeling Program is adequate for mini and microcomputers. The fact that mini and microcomputers have limited memory makes the program an attractive alternative to the nonmodular approach.
