Abstract
Thomas Wakeman awakes one day to find the gaze of a dark and enigmatical force directed on him. Soon he discovers that that gaze may be emanating from a long-deserted mansion on top of an unscalable mountain. Paul Fourier, the owner of the mansion, has written a novel titled The Circular Gardens. This book begins to insinuate itself into Wakeman's life in strange ways. Indeed, it becomes the center of a mystery, which Wakeman must try to solve. His efforts toward a solution occur under the threat of a comet, the possible destruction of the world, and the rise of a strange cult.
