Abstract

This research strove to address concerns with the use of stochastic processes to describe repairable system reliability. An alternative method for examining repairable system reliability data, based on a strategy that directs and modifies the usage of traditional tools, is presented. This alternate approach attempts to tie the reliability of repairable systems to sources of variation in the engineering and manufacturing processes in a cost effective manner that is easily communicated to engineers and managers.
