Abstract

Examples of problems in which distributed estimation must be used are given. Various methods which have been proposed for use in this situation are discussed briefly. Evolution of the method of solving distributed problems using the information fusion process is discussed, along with the latest results in this field. Error considerations for distributed problems are presented, and corresponding convergence results in the linear time-invariant, and linear time-varying, cases are given. The nonlinear version of this problem is addressed, with definition of error discussed, and results for the evolution of error in the nonlinear case are presented.
