Abstract

The one and two-neutron transfer reactions with 637 MeV 116Sn and 270 Mev and 345 MeV 58Ni beams on the rare earth 161Dy and 162Dy targets, 325 MeV 58Ni beam on the actinide target, and 570 MeV 112Sn on the spherical nuclei 117Sn and 118Sn targets were measured. These measurements were performed at Oak Ridge National Laborotary using the Tandem, Cyclotron and the Spin Spectrometer.

The particle-particle-γ coincidence methold was employed to identify the reaction exit channels; the Spin Spectrometer provided the γ-ray total energy and multiplicity to identify reaction entry channels.

In the present work, the cross sections and probabilities for one and two-neutron transfer reactions were measured; the transfer mechanism and nuclear struc ture effects are discussed.
