English Language Adult Education Books: Their Value to Adult Educators

Abstract

A survey research tool was designed to reveal perceptions of the value placed on various adult education publications. The first part contained a list of 393 English language books related to the adult education field. 135 participants checked on a final list those publications they judged to be of high value. Most respondents mentioned a fairly large number (39.13) of books of value. Eight of the top 20 were focused on adult learning or adults as learners, including the top five books.
