Submission Guidelines
All submissions will be processed through TRACE. Therefore, establishing a TRACE account is required. Before beginning the submission process by clicking on the "Submit Article" link (to the left), please read the following guidelines to help you prepare for submission.
We welcome entries written in French, German, Spanish, or English. Submissions will be considered from master's and doctoral students, but authors that already hold the Ph.D. at the time of submission will not be considered. We do not consider previously published work or work under consideration elsewhere. No contributions will be published without successfully passing through the complete double-blind evaluation process.
Please include in a document separate from the main document a cover page that includes an abstract, word count, and a brief author biographical sketch. Also, please remove any personally-identifying information from the main document of your submission (including its internal “properties” feature).
Scholarly essay and interview manuscripts should be between 5,000-7,000 words in length, including references and endnotes. Book reviews should not exceed 10 pages (i.e., 3500 words). Poetry submissions should include up to 5 original poems, and short stories should be no longer than 5,000 words. All entries should be double spaced, font Times New Roman 12, and follow MLA Style Manual format. For works in translation, please provide along with your submission a copy of the original, untranslated document, as well as any necessary permissions to translate from the original author, publisher, or copyright holder(s).
