Abstract
In this study, the program of a specific building type in decline is reconceptualized for the purpose of its reinvigoration. The building type is the urban passenger train station and its reconceptualization is done through an investigation of comprehensive architectural and urban design issues related to the passenger train station, emphasizing the circumstances specific to a particular city and this moment in time. This study consists of a synthesis of fundamental issues determined to be central to the thesis yet global in their implications.
