Abstract
This investigation is a study of marketing practices and agencies by and through which poultry and eggs are marketed in this area. An analysis of the findings will be attempted and conclusions stated.
The purposes are to determine the source of supply; to delimit the trade area; to determine the importance of Knoxville as a market for Tennessee poultry and eggs; to determine possibilities for enlarging local and distant outlets; to determine the relations between practices followed by producers and those followed by marketing agencies; to determine the effectiveness of such practices and agencies. It is not the purpose of this investigation to condemn or to defend any one system, practice, or marketing agency but to investigate and to attempt to analyze the situation as it exists in Knoxville.
