Abstract

The purposes of the study are as follows:

1. To compare cotton marketing methods used in organized one-variety communities with those in unorganized communities in Tennessee, in 1947.

2. To determine the principal methods, practices, and channels used by growers, ginners, and buyers in moving cotton from the field to the mill.

3. To investigate problems and inefficiencies in existing methods of marketing one-variety cotton, and determine opportunities and procedures for making improvements.
