Abstract
The purpose of this project was to design and to construct a portable hydraulic demonstration channel that could be used in the classroom for teaching purposes and in the laboratory for research work.
In this design and construction it was necessary to incorporate simplicity of design and operation and to consider economy a major factor. It was the desire of the author and his advisors to incorporate features, as far as practicable, that could be designed and constructed in the department shops. The principal reason for this was to keep the cost to the department at a low figure. If this objective could be accomplished, it was believed that other departments or agencies having need for such a model, but having limited budgets, would welcome plans for construction and operation.
