Abstract

The specific objectives of this study may be listed as follows: 1. To describe existing production patterns for commercial eggs before the Interstate Highway System. 2. To estimate transfer time and cost functions for moving com-mercial eggs from surplus areas to deficit areas. (a) Pre-Interstate Highway System. (b) Post-Interstate Highway System. 3. To describe expected shifts in egg production after the Inter-state Highway System is completed. 4. To estimate the impact of the Interstate Highway System on production and distribution patterns for Tennessee commercial eggs.
