Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of tylosin on production and egg quality of caged Single- Combed White Leghorn hens under experimental conditions. The antibiotic was administered at the rate of 50 grams per ton of feed to 140 birds while an equal number of hens were fed the basal diet. Data were collected over a 4 month period. The results of this experiment indicated that tylosin did not significantly (P<.05) effect egg production, feed efficiency, or any of the egg quality characteristics (egg shell thickness, albumen height, egg weight, Haugh units, and blood spots or meat spots).
