Abstract
Tests were conducted on products generated at The University of Tennessee FGD pilot plant to study their adsorptive behavior. They were also tested for CaCO3 content. Results of these bench-scale experiments were compared with pilot plant data. It was concluded that the increase in SO2 removal efficiencies observed at the pilot plant due to product recycle could be due to adsorption of lime on the surface of products. It was also suggested that CaCO3 may have a negative effect on the beneficial effects of product recycle.
