Abstract
Ten chinchilla were studied to determine the morphology of the Brainstem Electric Response (BER) for that animal. BER test parameters were first studied to determine which set elicited the best response. It was determined that a click stimulus presented at the rate of ten pulses per second was the optimum stimulus to obtain the BER. It was also shown that wave I was produced by the action potential of the VIIIth cranial nerve. Wave II and P2 were highly correlated however, the generating site of this potential was not determined.
