Abstract

In undertaking this Thesis work, the author had two objects in view. The first was to determine the effect produced on the heat transfer rate by varying the relative humidity of warm air passing over a hot pipe. The effect at very low humidities was especially desirous of being known. The second object was to produce a theoretical equation which would check the results found experimentally.

As a result of the tests made, it is intended to be shown that the relative humidity is in a straight line relationship with the heat transfer rate and that changing the humidity has little if any effect on the heat transfer rate when the circulating air is going . from a warm to a warmer state.
