Abstract
This thesis is a brief study of some of the most important phases in the financing, organization, and operation of the modern electric utility. At the time this thesis was begun, it was the desire of the writer to enter the electric utility field as a life's work. Many books have been written on each of the separate chapters contained in this thesis, and the writer has endeavored to condense into a brief and intelligible paper, the most important thoughts expressed in these books. In all, over eleven books, magazine articles, and annual utility reports have been carefully exaimed and studied. In order that all these facts might be better understood and arranged, the writer took the regular Facory Management and Industrial Organization courses offered in the Mechanical Engineering Course.
