Abstract
The problem treated herein has already been treated in some of its phases in another thesis. Frequent reference to this paper will be made in the present paper.
The apparatus studied was originally presented by its designer, Dr. J. H. Robertson of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Tennessee, by title to the American Chemical Society in the fall of 1926 at the Philadelphia meeting. The present writer has undertaken a study of it with a view of finding out how applicable it was to the use for which it was designed and whether or not a great degree of accuracy could be ascertained with it.
