Abstract

This thesis describes the work completed on NEXUS, a computer software tool that will serve as a link between existing computer software and the users of that software. NEXUS offers a menu of words and phrases to its user from which to construct a sentence describing a programming problem to be solved. Inferences will be made by NEXUS based on the sentence built by the user, and advice will be offered to the user on selecting the proper software for the problem described.

In this paper, the decision tree structure that forms the backbone of NEXUS and the terminal screen manager developed for NEXUS are discussed.
