Abstract

Currently, microcomputer technology is assigned to specific tasks, such as intercomputer communication and process control. However, a relatively unexplored area of microminiaturization is the application of power-line carriers in microcomputer alarm systems. The purpose of this thesis is to establish a design system which will introduce the power line as the carrier into the area of microcomputer alarm systems. This design is divided into two parts. The first part is the design of the power-line modem that 'is the interface between the power line and the microcomputer; the second part is the design of the necessary software to make the system operable.
