Abstract

The direct Walsh analysis method is more precise than the state-space approach but it needs many operational matrix tables to apply in higher order systems. The state-space approach is slightly less accurate than the former, but only one operational matrix table is needed.

This Walsh domain algorithm is suitable for signal processing in a digital autopilot system because of the rectangular wave nature of Walsh functions.

The application of this algorithm to the digital autopilot system has several benefits including error reduction, fast response, storage reduction and simplicity of implementation, but the continuous system must be precisely designed before implementation.
