Abstract
Reported herein is a description of the synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, and X-ray structural analyses for five novel trinuclear organometallic cluster complexes of iridium, rhodium, and cobalt. These complexes are 46 electron clusters which contain carbonyl ligands and both cyclopentadienide and pentamethylcyclopentadienide ligands. Results of temperature dependent 1H NMR studies are presented as well as an interpretaion of the data as it applies to the ground states of these complexes. Reactivity studies involving two electron donor ligands and olefin-like exchange processes are described.
