Abstract
A locally-implicit scheme for steady-state solution of the thin-layer NavierStokes Equations is simplified by elimination of coefficient matrices. This reduces both arithmetic computation and computer storage requirements. An added benefit is the simplification of the algorithm which eases the coding task. The locally-implicit scheme uses finite-volume spatial discretization, locally-implicit time integration, Jameson-type artificial dissipation terms and a modified GaussSeidel iteration. The modified method is tested for subsonic and transonic flows over an RAE 2822 airfoil.
