Abstract

This research isolated the reaction ϒρ → N^*+_ρ⁰, at I t’_ϒρI < 0.15(GeV/c)², with the N^*+ decaying into nπ⁺. The decay­ angular distributions and Breit-Wigner resonance distribution for this reaction were examined. Comparisons were made with a similar type reaction, ϒρ → ρ⁰ρπ⁺&pi^-.

It was determined that the s-channel helicity of the ρ⁰ is approximately conserved in this reaction and that the π⁺&pi^- mass distribution is skewed in a manner that is consistent with inelastic ρ⁰ photoproduction.
