Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a set of multiple regression equations to calculate peak streamflows within parts of the Tennessee Valley. At the request of the Tennessee Valley Authority's Flood Protection Section, the study attempted to define which areas within the Tennessee Valley could best be served by use of such equations.
As a result of the study, two sets of equations relating peak stream flows to drainage area for the 2, 10, 50 100 and 500 year recurrence intervals were developed for the Blue Ridge and Valley and Ridge physiographic provinces within the Tennessee River Basin.
