Abstract
This paper examines the United States Navy's Rotary Wing Aircraft Test Directorate's entry level engineer training requirements. An analysis of the Directorate's existing training is made and is used to determine training deficiencies and needs. The analysis includes collating the results of surveys and comparing and contrasting Directorate training with two civil sector aerospace companies. Conclusions are that Directorate entry level engineer training is inadequate and that the Directorate would benefit from implementing training for entry level engineers. A training program is proposed based on a sample program included in this paper. Recommendations are provided for the implementation of the proposed training program.
