Abstract
Corner Stitching is a data structure for storing objects in interactive VLSI layout editors. This thesis extends corner stitching for rectangular objects proposed by Ousterhout to L-shaped objects. The addition of L-shaped objects provides added flexibility to handle more than rectangular objects and represent L-shaped channels in a layout. There is also a significant memory savings while the run times required for operations is still within an acceptable range for a human designer.
