Abstract
A receiver model for improved target detection under high clutter conditions for radar guided missiles is developed. Within this paper, a typical receiver model is developed and evaluated to illustrate the problem that exists with this type of receiver. Test stimuli are used to evaluate the receiver model. An improvement is proposed for the receiver which eliminates the need for a limiter function. The improved receiver is evaluated using the same test stimuli. A comparison is made between the two receiver models to point out the improvements.
