Abstract

This dissertation explores the Information Horizons of First-Generation doctoral students and how their Information Horizons impact their successful completion of the course of study and research required to earn their doctoral degrees. Utilizing semi-structured interviews modeled from the methodology proposed by Sonnenwald’s Information Horizons theory this dissertation will delve into the intricacies of the source preferences and how they evolve throughout the three phases of the doctoral journey.
