Abstract

We develop a discrete version of conformal welding for discs and half-planes. Using circle packings, we induce discrete welding maps which approximate the classical conformal welding maps. A type of converse is also developed, allowing the approximation of quasisymmetries given the conformal welding curves they induce. We also discuss the practical issues involved in computing the discrete maps.
