Abstract
Sodium perborate is an inexpensive, stable and easy to handle reagentIn the course of a study focused on halogenation reactions, we developed a new bromination procedure using NaBr/NaBO3 in HOAC. It provides a highly efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly method for brominating organic molecules.
In a study of allylboration reactions, we found that β-ketoacids can be easily allylboronated by β-diisopropoxyborane to yield tertiary β-hydroxyacids in good yields.
