Abstract
A series of organic and inorganic supported organoboranes was synthezied for use in the production of radiopharmaceuticals. Polystyrene macroporous beads and yalumina were investigated as supported reagents. Solid State NMR (SSNMR) was used to characterize the supports. Experiments were carried out to study the new polymeric reagents and their use in the production of oxygen-15 and nitrogen-13 radiopharmaceuticals. The mechanism of the oxidation of organoboranes on y-alumina with molecular oxygen was studied by SSNMR. The structure of boron trihalides adsorbed on y-alumina was also investigated by SSNMR.
