The University Center in cooperation with the Art Department of the University of Tennessee in 1966 inaugurated a program in which the University Center would purchases art work from the annual art exhibit. The art work would then become a part of a permanent collection to be housed and exhibited in the center. Each year a committee composed of students and faculty will select the art works for the purchase awards.
The exhibit is planned each year to coincide with the Dogwood Arts Festival. The exhibition offers a cross section of what is being done in the world of art. This year the exhibition is devoted to paintings, prints, and drawings done in many different "styles" and executed in many various mediums.
