Abstract
The University Center in cooperation with the Art Department of The University of Tennessee, in 1966, inaugurated a program in which the University Center would purchase art work from the annual invitational art exhibit. The art work would then become part of a permanent collection to be housed and exhibited in the Center. Each year a committee composed of students and faculty will select the art works for the purchase awards. From this, the Fifth Annual National Invitational Exhibition more art work will be purchased to add to the collection.
Exhibiting artists were: Franklin Adams, Aaron Bohrod, Fritz Eichenberg, Philip Evergood, Jurgen Fischer, Jacob Landau, Robert A. Nelson, Ed O'Connell, Tullio Petrucci, Michael Ponce De Leon, Clayton Pind, Joe Raffaele, Walter Rogalski, Clare Romano, John Ross, Joseph Schwarz, Alexandra Spingarn, Andrew Stasik, Ronald Taylor, Robert Taugner, Howard Thomas, and John Wilde.
