Abstract
This project’s focus is to create an autonomous watering system that keeps your plants watered using an Arduino controller. The goal of the system is to employ a combination of soil moisture sensors, a microcontroller, and a water delivery mechanism to ensure plants receive the right amount of water only when needed. The soil moisture sensor continuously monitors moisture levels, relaying data to the controller, which processes the information to determine watering needs. Based on pre-set thresholds, the system activates a water pump to deliver precise amounts of water to the soil. The system is energy-efficient, powered by four AAA batteries, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The project aims to address the challenges of plant care by reducing the need for constant manual watering. The expected outcome of the project is a functional prototype that improves plant care while reducing water wastage. Future developments may include scheduling features or other capabilities to allow for greater convenience and control. These features may be controlled by a mobile app that offers adjustment of moisture levels, scheduled watering, and manual watering. The project contributes to both technology and sustainability by enabling more efficient, hands-off gardening solutions.
