A virtual memory for the extended interpreter of ASSIST-V
This paper describes the addition of a Dynamic Address Translation feature to ASSIST-V. ASSIST-V is a program which provides an environment for the implementation, testing and evaluation of systems software for the IBM System/360 series of computers. The implementation of the Dynamic Address Translation feature will assist in the teaching of virtual memory and paging techniques. The Dynamic Address Translation feature portion of ASSIST-V will provide an environment for implementation and testing of virtual memory systems software for the IBM System/370 series of computers. This capability is achieved by simulating all relevant features of the System/370. In particular, the actual translation process, control registers, control modes of operation, and translation interrupts are added to ASSIST-V.
