An index to the exhibitors and members of the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts, 1897-1927
The Boston Society of Arts and Crafts was the first and most influential organization of its kind in the United States. The years covered by the index, 1897-1927, roughly coincide with the beginning and most important years of the American handicraft movement.
The index is divided into two sections: the first is an alphabetical listing of Boston Society Craftsman members and exhibitors; and the second is an alphabetical listing of associates or supporters of the organization. The primary index provides the following information: the craft or crafts in which an individual worked, craftsman, master and honorary membership dates, medal award dates, exhibition dates, addresses and respective dates of residence.
