Abstract

NMR studies of molecular complexes of 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene in 1,2-dichloroethane have been done, employing both 13 C-NMR and 1H-NMR. Association constants and shifts of the pure complexes were obtained. Whereas the results could largely be interpreted in terms of a ring current model that has been previously proposed this was not entirely successful. There was evidence that electron transfer is taking place in some of the systems presented.
