Abstract

In the short period of TVA's existence, all types and kinds of dissertations, monographs, articles and books have been written on TVA and its program. Yet a large part of these writings deals with engineering details of construction or operations affecting electricity. As to TVA’s agricultural program and its effects, there are very few reports. The writer, in this report, has tried to study and develop this subject.

He realizes that this subject is too large for his ability and also for the limited time available. But he thinks it will be better to know the whole story of TVA's agricultural program before making a detailed study of a particular field, China* in many regions, needs to develop her natural resources as the TVA has done here. If there will be a chance for him to do so, the writer would like to bring both TVA’s spirit and its program to his own country* There are many different opinions regarding TVA's program and its merit. Some people state that TVA has succeeded on its job; others believe that TVA has been of great expense to the United States Government, Which opinion is more reasonable? Has TVA succeeded in its agricultural program or not? Both of these are problems which the writer will consider in this paper.
