Abstract

The objectives of this investigation were; 1. To determine if a standard agricultural tube auger could be used to deliver and accurately meter shelled corn for use in feed mixing. 2. To determine the auger capacity per revolution of the screw at screw speeds of 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 150 revolutions per minute. 3. To determine the auger capacity of each angle at auger inclinations of 0 (horizontal), 15, 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees (vertical). 4. To determine if the performance of the auger as a metering device would be consistent.
