Abstract
A flowmeter was designed, developed and constructed to measure total volume flow in partially full pipes because a reliable, accurate flowmeter was not commercially available. The flowmeter system uses a pitot tube type sensor with a differential pressure transmitter and a bubbler tube with a differential pressure transmitter to obtain flow velocity and liquid level information. A microcomputer performs all the flow calculations from this information. The completed system exceeds all desired performance specifications for reliability, accuracy, response time and flexibility.
