Abstract

Oxygen-17 enriched alcohols are conveniently synthesized via the reaction of trialkylboranes with a limited quantity of oxygen-17 enriched molecular oxygen. Functional substituents, present in reactant alkenes, are unaffected by this hydroboration-oxidation method.
