The primary purpose of this thesis is to make status of the a comparative study of the status of the teachers of Sevier County with teachers of Dickson, Hickman, Morgan, and White Counties, the area, population, amount of taxable property, and number of teachers being approximately the same, in order to ascertain whether or not Sevier County is keeping pace with comparable counties in the character of teachers employed.
The development of children will, in a very large measure, depend upon the character of their teachers. Therefore, it is exceedingly important that frequent inventories be token of the teaching corps in order to determine their status.
