Abstract

It is the purpose of this paper to outline a plan by which this Central Heating System will compete favorably with individual heating systems now in use. To do this it was necessary to obtain data and costs on the present systems in order to make accurate comparison with the cost of a Central Heating Plant. Further aims are to show that the proposed system has a greater efficiency, introduces the smokeless plant, utilizes less installation space for heating equipment and allows utilization of basement space for storage which formerly was taken up by heating equipment. It reduces the fire hazzard, especially in newspaper offices, merchandise buildings, and shops containing material of a very inflammable nature.
