Abstract

The purpose of this research is to show how a phased array antenna's susceptibility to cross-polarization jamming is directly correlated with the polarization characteristics of the individual phase shifters. The antenna under consideration is a space fed phased array antenna utilizing circularly polarized Faraday rotator type ferrite phase shifters. It is found that phased array antennas composed of phase shifters whose cross-polarization response slope is approximately -1, are most robust in their immunity to cross-polarization jamming.
