Comments

Spent nuclear fuel is processed with shearing, voloxidation, and dissolution in order to extract the radioisotope I-129. Four iodine capture methods are analyzed, and it is decided that using a silver mordenite bed for capture followed by a lead zeolite bed for storage is the most efficient and economic option.
