Abstract
Digital signal processors are a new type of microprocessors that are specially suited for high-speed and high-performance systems. A brief application, both hardware and software, is presented of a specific DSP, the TMS320C25. This DSP application is used in conjunction with a commercially available image processor. The idea presented increased performance of the image processor by enabling mathematically complicated algorithms to be performed on video images using random accessing.
