Abstract

The purpose of this study is to:


1. Describe the present wholesale fresh fruit and vegetable marketing system in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, and Tri-Cities area of Tennessee.

2. Determine impacts of changes in market structure on producers, wholesale agencies and shipping point marketing firms.

3. Determine the extent of future expansion which may be anticipated in direct buying as changes in structure of retailing take place.
